I've never done Beltane before, what should I do? and how can I do it subtly?

death-witch-envy:

Hi again! It’s great to see you’re celebrating Beltane–that’s exciting!!

Beltane is the spring harvest, when the Earth’s spring growth is at its peak. This means Beltane is a huge fertility holiday, and also a holiday of growth, success, abundance, attraction, and love.

Now assuming you’re like me and not dancing the Maypole or doing handfastings (getting married), then you can still celebrate this holiday. Love, fertility and sex spells are well-powered on this day (in case you have an SO wink wink). Luck, attraction and prosperity spells work well on this day, too.

In terms of ceremonial actions, you can gather flowers. It’s pretty traditional to go out and gather flowers, and place them on an altar if you have one. You can be extra traditional by weaving a flower crown. Braids are often worn on Beltane, as they symbolize union, sexual embraces and people coming together.

Originally Beltane was a fire festival, so you could light a fire if you house and weather permit it, or light a nice candle space. On the other end, if it’s raining where you live, collect some rain water; it’ll be prime cleansing and beauty water for spells.

Some people dance, as that’s similar to maypole dancing. Others plant “wish boxes”, mini flower boxes where you plant hopes for the coming season, and watch it flower alongside your plants. Others simply pray and make a spring-y meal, often with eggs, fruit, breads and vegetables.

I know there are many more comprehensive Beltane posts out there that list ideas on how to celebrate. I hope this gave you some ideas, though. Have a beautiful Beltane, lovely!!! ( ^  ^ )ノ

thewiccawitchofthewest:

Hello again, everyone! I hope you’ve all been well and I’d love to wish you all a Happy Beltane!

I’ve been thinking lately about how it’s finally spring and how it can be such a happy, positive time of year, and I wanted to do something to boost that feeling…

Thus, my Positivity Spell Jar was born!

I thought it would be lovely to share that with all of you. You don’t have to use all of these ingredients but the ones I used are:

  • Sunflower seeds - for happiness and growth
  • Bay leaf - for happiness and easing stress
  • Star anise - for good luck
  • Chilli - for energy and to boost the spell
  • Basil - for good wishes
  • Cinnamon - for power and healing
  • Chamomile - for calming both mind and body
  • Coriander seeds - for drawing love to you
  • Fennel seeds - for repelling negativity
  • Onion granules - to dispel anger
  • Black pepper - for banishing negativity
  • Caraway seeds - for protection
  • Marjoram - for happiness and love
  • Rose quartz - to soothe and heal the spirit
  • Quartz - for protection and healing

I sealed it with yellow wax (and bonus gold glitter).

I chose the yellow because that can mean sunshine, hope, happiness, positivity, optimism, and joy.

If any of you try making this spell jar, I’d love to see it. Please tag me in it because it would make me so happy!

Have fun celebrating Beltane!

Take care, my lovelies.

- Katy

11/2 Today Goofus the Peacock killed a mouse and instead of eating it right away, decided to wander around the pasture carrying it in his beak. The feral cats always appreciate dead-rodent-based performance art, so they followed behind Goofus single file to make a Very Exciting Dead Rodent Parade.

At one point Goofus stopped and put down his rodent and one of the feral cats dared to sniff at it, and Goofus unleashed The Most Terrifying Honk, something along the lines of I WILL END YOU AND EVERYONE YOU LOVE AND YOUR BONES WILL BE FORGOTTEN ON THE FROZEN EARTH WHEN I SNUFF OUT THE SUN AND SING THE STARS TO DARKNESS I AM THE DEVOURER AND DESTROYER OF ALL THINGS

The feral cats, previously unaware that the Death Of The Universe And End Of All Things is currently living as a peacock, ran off at about fifty miles an hour and hid under the barn for the rest of the day. They didn’t even come out at milking time to beg for goat milk, which is a first.

We probably should not have named the Death Of The Universe And The End Of All Things “Goofus,” actually.

Are you kidding that’s the Prefect name for The Death Of The Universe And End Of All Things.

Ok listen up curvy gals!

I am sure all you voluptuous ladies out there can relate to this….you buy a T-shirt with two dilemmas in mind

  1. I can buy it big enough to fit my chest/hips and the rest of it looks like a horrid garbage bag hanging on my torso
  2. I can get one that fits my waist sacrificing fit across my chest/hips and it’s rides up. It’s short, no matter how much you pull and adjust all day

I am very pleased to say that I put faith in Mark and Jacks design and got the size I should be, praying it would not be short or stretch in any way. And guess what!?!

It fits like a dream!!

image
image

Curvy girls! Cloak got us covered!

It’s hugs my body with breathing room…It doesn’t stretch across my chest. It’s plenty long so it covers my hips and my butt, thanks to the lower hanging back. I can move and bend all day and didn’t have to adjust once. And oh is it soft and comfy!

And I can confirm it is very well made. Tagless. Reinforce stitches. The print looks legit. Well cut. There are great lil details. But the fit!! I am just over the moon happy it fits like it should.

I feel pretty! 10/10 would buy again!

So glad you like it and it’s what you were looking for!
